A Little History

In the Fall of 2000, Dave Collins saw the Christian puppet team, His Hands (Dean and Suzi Grady) perform at the Joshua's Hands Fall Festival in
Waterford, Virginia.   On that day, God planted a seed.  Several months later, the puppet team, God's Kids  (Linda Hackney), of Hamilton Baptist Church, performed at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.  The seed was watered.   For the next 10 months,  the seed swelled until in December, 2001,  it sprouted, and a bunch of PVC pipe and connectors started forming a puppet stage.     Blue polyester fabric was hemmed and 3 puppets were purchased with a Christmas skit on cd.  A childs cd player was dusted off, and the first puppet performance was for one child behind that home made puppet stage.   One child sat spellbound as she heard about the birth of Christ through those puppets' foam and cloth mouths.

It seems like yesterday, and it seems like forever, but that little seed has blossomed into the  puppet ministry of Nancy's Hands.  Thousands of children, both young and old, have shared that same spellbound grin as they have heard about the love of God through puppetry.

Don't ever be surprised at how God can can use simple things and simple people to further His kingdom.    And don't be surprised when God plants a seed in your heart.   Just do Him a favor. Let it grow.

About Nancy

Nancy Pearson used her clown ministry in Ebenezer United Methodist Church.  I can still remember the children lined up on the front pew for Children'sd Time as she would tell a Bible story in mime.  She would wear her clown outfit, face paint, and white gloves.  With props, and using her hands and body language, she would tell the story.  The children would sit in quiet wonder as they absorbed it all.

Nancy finally lost her battle with cancer and now sits with the other saints in heaven.
But the Nancy's Hands Puppet ministry carries on where she left off.  Nancy's hands were Jesus' hands and our hands are now Nancy's Hands. Jesus said "Let the little children come to me".  Let them come.

Our slogan is "Raising Hands For God".  As Christian puppeteers, we put puppets on our hands and raise them to the Glory and Honor of God.   Through our performances, our intent is to encourage others to raise  their hands to God as well, to praise Him, and to  accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior

In our church van and bright trailer splashed with our logo on all sides, we have travelled from Virginia to Illinois, to the borders of Canada, Maine and most states in between.  We've performed our Christ centered puppet ministry in churches, private schools, numerous festivals, a barn, a campground, and on a college campus in a total of 10 states.  We eagerly share our ministry without bounds from Methodist, Baptist, Pentacostal, Presbyterian, Nazarene, African American, Korean, and Hispanic churches.
